PROGRAM INFORMATION

The 21st Century Community Learning Center Program was established by Congress as part of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act. The 21st Century Community Learning Center Program provides grants to communities to develop or expand on out-of-school time programs. These programs give students opportunities for academic enrichment and provide a broad array of additional services that are designed to reinforce and complement the regular academic program. The 2016 -17 academic year marks the 17th year that CLC programs have been offered by the Minot Public School District.

The 21st Century CLC programs are funded by a federal grant from the U.S. Department of Education and administered by the North Dakota Department of Public Instruction. The grant programs are currently operating at the following elementary schools: Lewis & Clark, McKinley, Roosevelt, Sunnyside and Washington. The Minot Public Schools Before & After operate at Bel Air, Edison, Erik Ramstad Middle School, John Hoeven, Longfellow and Perkett which are funded through program fees and administered by the program director. A key component to the success of the CLC programs is family and community involvement. Various school programs, civic organizations, and community agencies partner with the CLC program to provide activities and services to students and their families. Contact the CLC office at 857-8780 for additional information regarding program services.

MPS CLC FOUNDATION

This organization, under the Minot Public Schools Foundation, is actively involved in raising additional funds to enhance the present outstanding before/after school program. Student scholarships, materials, supplies, sustainability and staff development have been identified as target priorities.  The Minot Public Schools Community Learning Center Foundation is pursuing donations from businesses, district employees, MPS parents and individuals, many of whom are Minot Public School graduates. We ask you, today, to join with us in making the Minot Public Schools Community Learning Centers programs "the best that they can be." To continue the quality of excellence that is our tradition, we ask you to contribute to the foundation.

SchoolBlocks offers a unique and powerful personalized search system. A member of the public, searching for "homework" might see an announcement from the school as the first result. However, if the user is logged in, they would see their teacher’s latest homework assignment as the top result.
